Arizona Diamondbacks 5, Washington Nationals 4

I have no clue how Arizona won this one. Zack Godley seemed to be perpetual dealing with a stream of Nationals hitters on the bases, and had to work his way through more than one bases loaded situation. Yet, somehow he ended up “dueling” Stephen Strasburg to a sorta tie. Godley went five innings, scattered 10 hits and three walks, but somehow allowed only four runs. That’s some Houdini stuff, right there.

Fortunately, A.J. Pollock had his back, beginning with a home-run in the second innings. He ended up a double short of the cycle, scoring three runs and driving in a pair.
