Arizona Diamondbacks 4, St. Louis Cardinals 8

Patrick Corbin didn't have his best stuff, but worked through a stream of Cardinals base-runners in the early innings. The Diamondbacks took the lead in the fourth, courtesy of some sloppy visiting defense on a Daniel Descalso single, and Jake Lamb added an RBI single later in the frame. St. Louis got on the board in the fifth, but that run was all Corbin would allow. He worked six innings, on six hits and two walks, with six strikeouts, leaving with a 2-1 lead.

It lasted one batter, as Yoshihisa Hirano's scoreless streak immediately ended with a solo homer.
