A sorta pitcher’s duel early, with both Patrick Corbin and Brewers starter Junior Guerra getting through six with only two runs allowed apiece. Corbin started the seventh, but two singles later, the game was turned over to the bullpen, and the wheels once again started to come off the bus.
On the upside, it looks like Steven Souza Jr.’s bat may be starting to come around, as he finished the game 2 for 4 with his first extra-base hit as a Diamondback as well as his first RBI. Also, Goldy got a hit, didn’t strike out at all, and his first two outs were long, hard fly balls to right-center that, on a different sort of night, might have left the park.
