Record: 58-43. Pace: 93-69. Change on 2016: +16.
I wouldn’t bet too much money on it actually happening, but I’d like to think this afternoon’s win at Chase Field might act as the baseball equivalent of breathing into a paper-bag, and sooth the nerves of the panicky section in Diamondbacks fandom. When the second-half of the season started off by getting swept in Atlanta, even I would admit, things looked potentially a bit wobbly. But since then, Arizona has righted the ship, going 5-4, winning two of three series - and particularly notable, outscoring the opposition over those nine games by a total of 60-36.
