SAN DIEGO — Baseball’s winter meetings wrapped up on Thursday morning, and for the first time in years it was an action-packed week around the majors. Only it wasn’t for the Diamondbacks.
On the day they arrived, the Diamondbacks signed free-agent reliever Junior Guerra to a modest contract. It turned out to be their only transaction of the week, though General Manager Mike Hazen said it wasn’t a week filled with disappointments.
"Doors weren’t shut," he said, when asked if their limited movement meant the week was filled with setbacks.
