A.J. Pollock sits as Torey Lovullo focuses on big picture

Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo began to make good on his promise to give his outfielders plenty of days off this season, leaving center fielder A.J. Pollock out of the lineup on Saturday against the Cleveland Indians.

Lovullo said he planned the day off around the fact that the club plays a day game on Sunday, and he said he expects to continue to be proactive in his attempts to keep his best players as fresh and as healthy as possible.

Jeremy Hazelbaker, who has played a big role off the bench in the season’s first week, got the start in place of Pollock.
