Diamondbacks center fielder A.J. Pollock showed up in the clubhouse Wednesday with a black sleeve protecting his injured right elbow.
Naturally, there were questions. Why the sleeve? How is his elbow doing? Is he concerned he might not be ready for the season?
Pollock pulled at the sleeve, as if he was going to take it off.
“It shouldn’t be a story,” he said. “They (the Diamondbacks) just wanted me to try it out.”
Until Pollock returns to Cactus League play, however, his elbow and whatever he wears around it will be a topic of conversation.
