We're still awaiting official confirmation from the Diamondbacks on this one, and no word of what we might be getting back. This does tie in with rumors earlier in the day about the Mets closing in on a bullpen arm, but the news it was Reed does come as something out of the blue. Reed was in his second season with Arizona, having been acquired from the White Sox for Matt Davidson. He had his ups and down, but an ERA of 4.20 over exactly 100 games here isn't very good for a closer (it's an ERA+ of just 91).
