On my way home from work yesterday I was listening to Mike Francesca’s show on WFAN. The topic was the New York Mets and what has become an annual Summer tradition, callers were discussing either the inability or the unwillingness of their front office to address the team’s needs. One fellow (I wish I remember his name) called the station and proposed a trade that would presumably help his beleaguered favorite team. Some calls can be ridiculous like the one in 1999 where a Mets’ fan said he wouldn’t trade Rey Ordonez for Derek Jeter.
