It’s no secret that baseball has fallen from its perch as ‘America’s Pastime’ over the last 20 years or so. While I love the sport with an undying love for #pitcherswhorake (RIP) and all of it’s unwritten rules, football and basketball have leapt past baseball as the sports that matter the most around the proverbial water cooler in America. Most sports fans have a take about MJ or LeBron as the GOAT. Even non-sports fans care about the Super Bowl. Meanwhile, the biggest sports talk shows in America will spend more air time talking about the NFL schedule in the month of May than they will about the entire sport of baseball over the course of the season.
