I think, in fact, this may be the first time we have ended with a tie in any of the ‘Pittie award categories. I guess we could just have left things like that, but as we all know, there’s no tying in baseball (thank you, I’ll be here all week...). So, by the power invested in me by... well, let’s be honest. by me, I cast my tie-breaking vote for the double-header against Atlanta. There, Zac Gallen and Madisum Bumgarner each shut out the future World Series champions, allowing a total of one hit over their fourteen innings, as Arizona rolled to a sweep on the day by margins of 5-0 and 7-0.
