After a respectfully decent 2017 season with the Dbacks, JDLR signed a new 1 year deal with the team on February 23rd 2018. I was encouraged by the news that Jorge had re-signed with the team as I was a big fan of his overall 2017 performance and believed his many years of experience in the NL West to be valuable.
This season JDLR was viewed as someone who could pitch in any situation. As a 13 year veteran and long time starter JDLR could be relied upon to start a game, replace a struggling starter early, eat up innings, or come in the game for a late innings match up.
