Rick Tocchet is staring at a blank wall. He is a couple of steps inside the hallway leading to the Coyotes’ locker room inside Gila River Arena. There is a rack full of hockey sticks to his left. To his right is nothing but the blank white wall. It has a couple of horizontal red and black lines pained on it, like the piping on the sleeves of a hockey sweater, but that’s it.
And yet that wall has a story to tell. It’s a story about learning your way, earning your keep and ultimately, realizing your dreams through your commitment, effort and accountability.
