Roadrunners captain Craig Cunningham doesn’t remember skating on the ice before puck drop.
He doesn’t remember strapping on his equipment or any of the other preparation he went through on that Saturday.
His last memory is of him playing hockey but from the previous weekend.
What has become clear, though, since he collapsed on the ice about a month ago is the care he received in the aftermath – from doctors, Roadrunners staff and the fire department.
Without it, “I don’t think I’d be here today,” Cunningham said.
But he is.
“It’s a miracle,” Coyotes coach Dave Tippett said.
