His commitment to the Coyotes may currently be for only the rest of the season, but veteran winger Alex Tanguay is focused on making an impact in that time.
A knee problem delayed his debut, frustrating Tanguay and making him feel like he almost wasn’t part of the team yet since much of the camaraderie that connects players is built on the ice.
When he was finally ready to play Saturday, he still didn’t feel at ease.
“I was nervous,” Tanguay said. “I’m coming here to prove myself.”
Tanguay suggested he’s more than capable of being a catalyst for the Coyotes after making a splashy first impression with two goals and an assist in a slump-busting 5-1 win over the Panthers, but that might not be his most important contribution.
