After a summer-long negotiation, the Coyotes finally reached a resolution with restricted free agent winger Anthony Duclair by signing the third-year NHLer to a one-year, $1.2 million contract Sunday, league sources said.
Duclair had been the team's only remaining RFA without a contract.
The Coyotes had wanted to lock up Duclair with a short-term deal, a length indicative of how up and down Duclair's career had been to date.
Acquired as the centerpiece of the Keith Yandle trade with the Rangers in 2015, Duclair impressed as a rookie, scoring 20 goals in 2015-16.
But the 22-year-old winger suffered a setback last season; he was a healthy scratch at times and was demoted to the minors in January to try to rediscover his scoring touch.
