When the Arizona Coyotes made the decision to not re-sign longtime captain Shane Doan it was a question of when, not if, the team was going to retire his number. Doan is a fan favorite and the career leader of nearly every Coyotes franchise record including games played, goals, assists, and points. Of course it made perfect sense that the team would want to retire number 19, but would Doan want to work with the team who decided to move on without him?
Thankfully things seem to have gotten better between the organization and Doaner, at least to the point where Doan is ready to have his jersey retired by the Arizona Coyotes.
