Shane Doan named Fiesta Bowl Parade Grand Marshal

Former Arizona Coyotes star Shane Doan has been named the 47th Annual National Bank of Arizona Fiesta Bowl Parade Grand Marshal.

Doan, who recently announced his retirement from the NHL in a letter in The Arizona Republic, played 21 seasons in the NHL, all with the Coyotes franchise (he spent the first season of his career in Winnipeg before the Jets moved to Arizona).

He concluded his career with 1,540 regular-season games, 402 goals, 570 assists, 972 points, 69 game-winners and 128 power-play goals – all Coyotes franchise records.

He’s one of just nine players in NHL history to play at least 21 seasons with the same organization, and only three NHLers have recorded more games with one franchise.
