Almost three weeks after playing their final game of the regular season, a handful of Coyotes will take to the ice starting Friday when the IIHF World Championship opens in the Czech Republic.
The Coyotes will have seven players participating in the tournament: goalie Mike Smith (Canada), defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson (Sweden), winger Tobias Rieder (Germany), winger Martin Erat (Czech Republic) and defensemen Connor Murphy and John Moore and center Mark Arcobello (United States).
"It's a good opportunity for me to go and play and get used to playing in May," Ekman-Larsson said.
Only Moore and Arcobello are playing in the tournament for the first time.
