The Coyotes were missing a few regulars against the Predators, some by design and one that wasn’t.
Winger Max Domi is sidelined week-to-week with an upper-body injury, getting placed on injured reserve after leaving Thursday’s game with a cut under his left eye following a fight.
And winger Anthony Duclair sat as a healthy scratch; same with defenseman Michael Stone.
This new look accentuated the Coyotes’ youth, which has certainly led to some of the instability that’s rocked their lineup at times this season.
But not this game.
Hustle, skill and energy – the supposed upsides of rookies – were at the forefront of a 4-1 win Saturday at Gila River Arena that snapped a season-long six-game losing skid.
