Report: Arizona Coyotes trade Martin Hanzal to Minnesota Wild

The Coyotes appear to have moved their most appealing trade candidate three days before the NHL deadline, sending center Martin Hanzal to the Wild, multiple league sources confirmed.

TSN's Bob McKenzie first reported the news.

Hanzal seemed likely to be shipped out before Wednesday's 1 p.m. Arizona-time deadline as he was a pending unrestricted free agent, and the Coyotes had yet to table an offer to Hanzal as of Friday afternoon.

The 6-foot-6, 30-year-old center led the Coyotes in goals with 16, which tied a career-high. In 608 games, Hanzal amassed 117 goals, 196 assists and 313 points after getting drafted by the organization 17th overall in 2005.
