Keith Yandle’s time in Arizona with the then-Phoenix Coyotes has gotten a bit of attention this offseason. ESPN recently named him as a member of the Arizona Coyotes’ “All Decade Team” and when Craig Morgan discussed the all-time team Shane Doan said that if Yandle had re-signed in Arizona he would probably be the best left defenseman. Because he has been coming up a lot I wanted to look back at the trade that sent Yandle to the New York Rangers.
Arizona Gets: First-round pick in 2016*, a second-round pick in 2015**, John Moore, Anthony Duclair
New York Gets: Keith Yandle (the Coyotes would retain half of his salary), Chris Summer, a fourth-round pick in 2016 (Tarmo Reunanen)
*The Coyotes would trade this pick to the Detroit Red Wings along with Joe Vitale and the 53rd overall pick in exchange for Pavel Datsyuk and the 16th overall pick which was used to draft Jakob Chychrun.
