Quiet at trade deadline, Coyotes expect players returning from injury to make similar impact

When the NHL trade deadline passed Monday afternoon, a total of 22 trades had been made involving 25 of the 31 clubs. Some teams made as many as six trades (Winnipeg) and six teams did nothing (Tampa Bay, Chicago, Dallas, Edmonton, Washington and the New York Islanders).

The Coyotes were one of the least active teams not only Monday but in the week leading up to the deadline. President of Hockey Operations and General Manager John Chayka made just one trade, sending center Jordan Weal to the Montreal Canadiens for center Michael Chaput, who will be assigned to the Coyotes’ AHL affiliate in Tucson.
