Raise your hand if you were moved to tears or anger when the Short Leash Line was broken up by the trade of former Coyotes forward Conor Garland.
It's OK. You aren't alone. But the trade of Garland, a major move just by itself, was only part of a larger deal that at the same time saw the Coyotes trade former team captain Oliver Ekman-Larsson to the Vancouver Canucks on July 23.
Garland is gone. The person who coined the "Short Leash Line" moniker, former head coach Rick Tocchet, is also gone, and if Nick Schmaltz and Clayton Keller are together on a line again, they will have a new third man.
