For the first time since 1986, league rivals will meet in the Memorial Cup tiebreaker game when the Quebec Remparts and Rimouski Océanic square off Thursday at 7:30 p.m. ET/4:30 p.m. PT.
The Océanic avoided elimination and maintained their mastery of the Remparts on Wednesday night with a 4-0 decision for their fifth win in six tries over their QMJHL East Division contemporaries. Defenceman Samuel Morin was an immovable force, Michael Joly notched four points and Philippe Desrosier made 27 saves for a clean sheet in the cord cottage. Meantime, Quebec had stars Anthony Duclair and Jérome Verrier exit early with injuries.
