Sitting in a playoff position after the NHL All-Star break might seem like enough of an accomplishment for the Coyotes, considering how much they had to improve after last season’s debacle to rejoin the competitive ranks of the league.
But by revealing that much progress so soon amid a rebuilding strategy, they’ve suggested they have the potential to not only remain in contention but actually secure a spot.
That's the challenge that will greet the team when it resumes its season Tuesday at home against the Kings.
“I’m excited to see the next couple months, what we can do," General Manager Don Maloney said.
