Phil Kessel's two goals and a strong second period lifted the Arizona Coyotes to their first win of the season in their second game, 5-2 over the San Jose Sharks on Saturday afternoon at Gila River Arena.
Barrett Hayton, Jakob Chychrun and Clayton Keller also scored for the Coyotes (1-0-1), the first goals of the season for Hayton and Chychrun. Oliver Ekman-Larsson tied a career high with three assists and Antti Raanta, making his first start of the season, stopped 31 shots in goal.
The Sharks (1-1-0) scored on their first power play of the game, just as they did in Thursday's season opener.
