The Arizona Coyotes and Pittsburgh Penguins agreed to a trade Saturday that sends sniper Phil Kessel to the desert, where he looks to spark a disappointing offense.
The news broke Saturday evening that after rejecting a trade which would send him to the Minnesota Wild, Phil Kessel would be instead dealt to the Arizona Coyotes, a team not on his no-trade list, and allowing him to reunite with Coyotes head coach Rick Tocchet, who was present for both of Kessel’s Stanley Cup wins in Pittsburgh as an assistant coach.
Headed to Arizona are Kessel and Dane Birks while the Penguins bring home Alex Galchenyuk and Pierre-Olivier Joseph.
