The Arizona Coyotes had little time to rue Friday’s lackluster effort, but carried the same issues into Saturday.
With a start that lacked the energy boost the Coyotes needed, the Coyotes dug a hole in the first period with a 3-1 score. Backed by Noah Gregor’s hat trick, the San Jose Sharks continued to push in the following periods to hand the Coyotes a 7-2 loss at Mullett Arena.
“No emotion, no life, no spirit, nothing,” head coach Andre Tourigny said. “We’re disappointed, especially in front of our fans.”
Both teams remain in the draft lottery mix with the Coyotes (27-37-13) at sixth in the draft standings and the Sharks at fourth.
