The Arizona Coyotes weren’t able to follow Tuesday’s comeback win with the same effort.
Instead, the team was outperformed by the Washington Capitals after falling behind with two consecutive goals allowed in the second period. The Coyotes couldn't find an answer, losing 4-0 at Mullett Arena on Thursday.
A goaltender interference review that tipped in the Coyotes' favor erased Lars Eller's goal at 5:21 in the second period and could have been the spark for the Coyotes. However, the Coyotes were stalled offensively. Former Coyotes goaltender Darcy Kuemper had 26 saves, including just one shot from three power play opportunities.
