John Scott will remain captain of the Pacific Division team at the 2016 NHL All-Star weekend in Nashville, despite a trade last week to the Eastern Conference Montreal Canadiens.
Scott was elected to the Pacific Division captaincy in fan voting while a member of the Coyotes.
The Coyotes, as of now, will not have a representative in the All-Star weekend, according to an NHL source.
Scott’s assignment to the American Hockey League, coupled with the change in conference, created a unique situation for the NHL, which opted to stay with the fans' decision.
Scott's inclusion - as a member of the Pacific Division - keeps the rosters balanced.
