Arizona Coyotes head coach Rick Tocchet will turn to new forward John Hayden in the lineup in Wednesday's game at Vegas, in place of Barrett Hayton, who played the season's first three games.
Hayden, acquired in free agency in the offseason, is set for his Coyotes debut. He was scratched in the team's previous games.
If he's a direct replacement for Hayton, Hayden slots into a line with Nick Schmaltz and Conor Garland.
Hayton is "a little banged up," Tocchet said early Wednesday, but not unable to play. With a condensed schedule, Tocchet decided he wanted to get Hayden some playing time for a night.
