CALGARY, Alberta -- Stefan Elliott scored on a point shot through traffic 1:47 into the third period and the Arizona Coyotes beat the Calgary Flames 2-1 on Thursday night.
Elliott worked a cycle up high with Anthony Duclair before firing through Martin Hanzal's screen. Hanzal was originally credited with the goal, but replays showed the puck deflected off Flames defenseman Kris Russell and not Hanzal.
Oliver Ekman-Larsson also scored to help Arizona improve to 6-1-2 in its last nine. The Coyotes are second in the Pacific Division at 20-16-4.
