E-mails reveal Glendale's case to end Coyotes deal

Glendale officials asked a judge this week to allow the city to skip a $3.75 million payment to the Arizona Coyotes, and in the process outlined the city's legal argument for terminating its arena agreement with the team.

The city contends a state conflict-of-interest law concerning contract negotiations allows it to void its 15-year, $225 million agreement with the hockey franchise. The Glendale City Council voted 5-2 last week to terminate the deal.

Documents filed Wednesday in Maricopa County Superior Court include personal and business e-mails spanning three years between Coyotes President Anthony LeBlanc and former City Attorney Craig Tindall.
