Coyotes captain Shane Doan remembers his first goal. Just like the last one, it came in a game against the Chicago Blackhawks. He remembers playing terribly and wondering if he was cut out for the NHL.
“I remember sitting on the bench questioning if I could play and all the things that go along with that,” Doan said.
He remembers his team, the Winnipeg Jets, being down when he took a shot across the grain that caromed off the post and into the net. He remembered teammate Teemu Selanne scoring the game-tying goal, and the Jets going on to win in overtime.
