The Coyotes have every right to be encouraged by a 9-4-2 record to begin the season, the team's best 15-game start in recent memory.
However, there is also reason to believe the Coyotes haven't played to their full potential in the 2019-20 season, despite their early success in the standings.
There are two ways to evaluate this.
The first is the optimistic route: The Coyotes haven't played their best hockey yet, they could climb the standings even further.
But there is also a pessimistic route: If the Coyotes are still haven't played to their full ability, could they be due for a regression?
