It’s not officially official just yet, but we’re an agreement away between the Sabres and the Pittsburgh Penguins from Dan Bylsma taking over the head coaching job in Buffalo.
According to the AP, Bylsma and the Sabres have an agreement in principle, the only thing left to decide is what draft pick compensation is heading Pittsburgh's way.
The Penguins didn’t seek a draft pick when they let Ray Shero take the GM gig in New Jersey, but they would like one if Bylsma is to go coach the Sabres. Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman Tweeted that the two sides are close to agreeing on a third-round pick in 2016 being sent Pittsburgh’s way.
