Luis Hernández grew up in soccer-mad Mexico, first in his birthplace of Veracruz and later in Mexico City. Futból was everywhere.
As a youth he dreamed of scoring goals. But soon, in fact as soon as Tuesday night, he'll be calling them. Provided that the Arizona Coyotes do score a goal or more when they host the Winnipeg Jets.
Hernandez has spent years perfecting a "goooollllllll" call for soccer, which he can now apply to hockey. The veteran broadcaster who is the Arizona Cardinals' Spanish language play-by-play announcer will call the first Coyotes game to be broadcast in Spanish on radio, and the 12 more scheduled in Spanish after that.
