Defenseman Michael Stone is nearing a return from an upper-body injury but is unlikely to play tonight against the Jets.
“He’s put in some good practice time here,” coach Dave Tippett said. “You don’t want to put him in a bad position to reinjure anything. We’ll just see where it goes the next couple days, but it’d certainly be good to get him back.”
The Coyotes are hoping goalie Mike Smith, who has been sidelined since Oct.
