Coyotes goalie Mike Smith's trophy case has added a pair of gold medals in the past 15 months, one from the recent IIHF World Championship and the other earned as Team Canada's third goaltender at the 2014 Winter Olympics.
As decorated as his international profile continues to be, Smith hasn't forgotten about the ultimate prize in the NHL: the Stanley Cup.
Actually, his success away from the Coyotes seems only to enhance that focus.
"At the end of the day, you're trying to win and if you do win, it makes you that much more eager to win again," Smith said.
