The Coyotes have signed German forward Matthias Plachta to a one-year, entry-level contract, the team announced Thursday.
Plachta, 24, went undrafted and has spent the past four seasons with Adler Mannheim in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga. Last season, the 6-foot-2, 220-pound winger tallied 14 goals and 35 points in 47 games while adding five goals an nine points in 15 playoff games.

"Matthias is a big, skilled winger who had a very good season in the German League," General Manager Don Maloney said in a statement.
