The Coyotes signed defenseman Kevin Connauton to a two-year contract on Wednesday, the club announced.
The deal is worth $2.75 million, has an average annual value of $1.375 and is pending league approval, according to multiple NHL sources. Connauton would have become an unrestricted free agent on July 1.
Connauton, 28, posted a career-high 11 goals last season and finished among the top 100 in points among NHL defenseman despite ranking in the 200s for average ice time.
The Coyotes now have each one of their top six defenseman under contract, as Connauton joins fellow Arizona blueliners Oliver Ekman-Larsson, Niklas Hjalmarsson, Jason Demers, Alex Goligoski and Jakob Chychrun for next season.
