Coyotes re-sign center Brad Richardson, continue building depth down the middle

The Coyotes don’t have Auston Matthews. They don’t have Sidney Crosby and they don’t have Connor McDavid.

But, according to Coyotes President of Hockey Operations and General Manager John Chayka, the Coyotes do have the means to build their center depth in a more creative way.

That philosophy was punctuated on Tuesday when the Coyotes re-signed center Brad Richardson to a two-year contract. Richardson spent the last three seasons with the club before officially becoming an unrestricted free agent on July 1.

The deal is worth an annual average value of $1.25 million, according to multiple NHL sources.
