Arizona Coyotes points leader Conor Garland will not play Saturday against the Colorado Avalanche and is day to day with a lower body injury, the team announced prior to the start of the game.
Garland, whose 19 points lead the team, had not missed a game this season. But he's been hit during play and after whistles quite a bit this season as opposing players seek to limit his effectiveness.
Garland has 12 assists, one which came late Friday night in the Coyotes' 3-2 loss to the Avalanche. At one point in the game, he was flung to the ice by Colorado's Gabriel Landeskog after some physical play near the net.
