The Arizona Coyotes look poised to go with the group of players that have taken them this far in 2021, as the NHL's trade deadline approaches.
The Coyotes played a Sunday afternoon game at Vegas, then were to head to Denver for the second day of back-to-back games, Monday against the Colorado Avalanche. By the opening faceoff Monday night, the league deadline for trades will have come and gone.
The Coyotes were 3-3 on their current nine-game road trip going into the game at Vegas. They had a five-point lead in the West Division for fourth place and the last playoff spot as recently as this past Tuesday.
