Only two days after filing for salary arbitration, winger Mikkel Boedker avoided the process entirely by agreeing to a one-year, $3.75 million contract with the Coyotes Tuesday.
"We are pleased to sign Mikkel," General Manager Don Maloney said in a statement released by the team. "He is an important player for us, and we look forward to having him back next season."
Negotiations on a new deal had been ongoing but with the two sides unable to agree on a term and matching value, Boedker elected for salary arbitration Sunday. His goal was a one-year deal.
"There's been a lot of changes with the Coyotes and a lot gone on," said Jarrett Bousquet, Boedker's agent, said Sunday.
