Coyotes lose ninth straight on late Hurricanes goal; Vejmelka strong in goal again

For the second straight game, Karel Vejmelka was everything the Arizona Coyotes needed him to be and more in net. But for the ninth straight game, the Arizona Coyotes lost, on Sunday falling 2-1 to the only undefeated team in the NHL, the Carolina Hurricanes.

The Coyotes' offense struggled once again with the team having to work too hard on defense. On the back end was Vejmelka, a rookie pressed into more action with No. 1 goalie Carter Hutton injured and unavailable. Vejmelka stopped 37 of 39 Hurricanes shots on goal on the heels of a 30-save night two days before at Washington.
