Coyotes' Lindback likely done for season

The Coyotes are on the brink of one of the more rigorous sections of their schedule, closing out February with a seven-game stretch against four of the top five teams in the league.

And neither member of the goaltending tandem that will be tasked with helping keep Arizona’s playoff hopes alive during this challenge was even in the NHL at the start of the season.

After losing No. 1 Mike Smith to a core muscle injury in mid-December, the Coyotes will now be without backup Anders Lindback indefinitely.

Lindback suffered an injury to his Achilles' tendon prior to Monday’s game against the Canadiens, prompting the Coyotes to dress Nathan Schoenfeld as their emergency backup, and will undergo surgery to likely end his season.
