Travis Boyd came to the Coyotes on a one-year contract in free agency, and at training camp said he'd hoped he could play all 82 games this season, grateful for an opportunity for more ice time on a rebuilding team.
Boyd won't reach 82 games, but he's earned himself some job security. The Coyotes on Saturday announced that they'd signed Boyd to a two-year contract extension, and according to CapFriendly's NHL salary database, it has an average annual value of $1.75 million.
Boyd earned it with 10 goals and 14 assists in 46 games so far, plus some hard-nosed end-to-end play this season.
