It hasn't been the kind of season Johan Larsson had hoped for, and the Coyotes center can thank a bout with COVID-19 and a lower body injury for that.
But Larsson is still a key part of the team, and he has eight assists in 18 games played out of the 30 the Coyotes have logged this season. Three of those assists came in Tuesday night's wild 8-7 overtime shootout loss to the San Jose Sharks.
Larsson was on the ice for six of the Coyotes' goals that night. With No. 1-line center Travis Boyd out due to being placed in COVID protocol, Larsson was elevated to the position, with Lawson Crouse and Phil Kessel as the wings.
